Projects

Estimation of Carbon Dioxide in Metal Carbonates, Polyelectrolyte Coating on Silica and Polystyrene Spheres and Synthesis of Prussian Blue coated Carbon Nanoparticles (Summer 2009)

These projects were done at JNCASR, Bangalore as a part of Summer Research Fellowship Programme. The main project dealt with the Synthesis of Prussian Blue coated Carbon Nanoparticles, which were supposed to possess magnetic properties.

Synthesis, Characterisation and Application of Anisotropic Metal Nanoparticles (May 2010 - Present)

Project currently going on in Tata Chemicals Limited Innovation Center, Headed by Prof. Murali Sastry.

Synthesis and Applications of Carbon and Silica based Nanopolymers (1st Semester 2008-2009)

A Lab Oriented Project under Dr. Amit Dubey, Asst. Professor, Chemistry Department, BITS Pilani. Involved the synthesis of SBA-15, KIT-6 and MCM (mesoporous carbon) using crystal templating approach.

Development of Catalytic Nanopolymers for Organic Gas Phase Reactions (2nd semester 2008-2009)

A project under Dr. Amit Dubey, Asst. Professor, Chemistry Department, BITS Pilani in which the concept of developing nanopolymers for catalysis was studied in detail.

Boiler Water Chemistry (Summer 2008)

Involves a comprehensive study of chemical preprocessing and online processing of water to be used for the Heat Recovery Steam Generator of Closed Cycle Power Plants. The processes studied include clarification, demineralization, softening, deaeration and the addition of pH maintaining and protecting chemicals.

Detergentless Washing Machine (2nd Semester 2007-2008, 2nd semester 2008-2009)

The designing of a washing machine which works on electricity and requires no detergent for cleaning clothes.

Project Clean Yamuna (2nd semester 2008-2009)

Development of an extremely cost effective technique for the cleanup of river Yamuna and making the water free of harmful acidic n basic impurities. This Project won the first prize in APOGEE, the Annual Technical Festival of BITS, Pilani.
